Student Insurance

All student related, supervised activities are covered by an “excess or supplemental coverage” student accident insurance plan. Claims for an injury must be submitted by the parents or guardians to their own health insurance carrier first. If the claim is not payable or is in excess of the amount payable, the balance is then submitted for consideration of payment under the school plan. For any supervised school accident which requires medical attention, parents should notify the School Nurse. Failure on the part of the parent to meet certain clerical obligations, which are vital to the claim process, may result in unnecessary delays in payment of valid claims. Even if you are fairly certain your family insurance will cover a claim, the School Nurse should be notified and an accident report must be completed.
