The Section Sports Committee assigned in each sport by the Section 2 Athletic Council governs Section 2 tournament play. Bolton Central School will abide by all parameters set by the Section.

Should any Bolton Central School Varsity team attain the status of Section 2 champion, the district will provide the needed resources allowing involvement at Regional and State Championship play. The district will adhere to standards and regulations set by NYSPHSAA.

Involvement -

As members of The Adirondack League we are obligated to have any divisional championship team play in the League championship tournament or games.

Play into Sectional tournaments can be involved as follows. Competitive Classification allows for schools in Section 2 to enter Sectional play, at the discretion of the Athletic Director and team coach only if the record of play against all similar class (Class D currently) conference opponents is at .500% or better. Open Classification allows for schools to participate solely upon the discretion of the Athletic Director and coach, without regard of the team record.

Bolton Central School has historically and currently uses the Competitive Classification standard as the method for entering Section 2 tournament play. This methodology can only be changed by written recommendation by the Superintendent to the Sectional Sport Committee. The Superintendent will only make such recommendation after receiving a written request to do so from a majority of the current Varsity coaching staff and the Athletic Director.

Recognition -

Student athletes will be recognized by the school for participation purposes. League, Section and State recognition will be distributed appropriately. Booster Club activities will be considered and Annual recognition will be held in concert with that organization.

Insurance -

Basic school supplemental insurance will be provided for all extra and co curricular activities. Liability Property insurance will be specified to include use for athletic events.
