The Bolton community regularly supports our Bolton Central School students in a variety of ways. Recently the Bolton Free Library, represented by library director, Megan Baker, arranged a very special visit for our 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. Ms. Baker joined our students to read, The Christmas Owl: Based on the True Story of a Little Owl Named Rockefeller. The owl in the story is a Saw-Whet owl named Rockefeller.
Students were also treated to some very special guests. Wildlife rehabilitator, Nancy Kimball and Linda Bennett brought Sam, the Saw-Whet owl and Justin, the Barred owl to visit with students. Our curious readers had lots of questions. Seeing these regal birds in person helped students truly appreciate their beauty and learn more about animals they could come across in their own surroundings.
The Bolton Free Library graciously provided a copy of The Christmas Owl: Based on the True Story of a Little Owl Named Rockefeller for 2nd and 3rd grade students. 4th and 5th grade students were given an I Survived book from the popular historical fiction book series focusing on themes of courage and resilience.
Thank you, Ms. Baker and all our friends, at the Bolton Free Library for creating such a unique opportunity and an experience our students will not soon forget!
