Our first and third graders have embarked on an exciting STEAM adventure by creating paper from scratch! Ms. Carlson and Ms. Jorgensen along with the help of our Young Scholars teacher Ms. Christle-Renaud provided this exciting project during makerspace class. Through this hands-on activity, students learned about the paper-making process, discovering how paper is made from trees.
Project Highlights:
● Blending and Pressing: Students blended paper into pulp and pressed it using screens and heat to create their very own sheets of paper.
● Understanding Resources: This project taught students the importance of trees in paper production and the steps involved in recycling and creating new paper.
● Hands-On Learning: Engaging in this practical experience, our young learners developed a deeper understanding of how everyday materials are made.
We are proud of our students' enthusiasm and creativity in exploring the world of paper-making. Stay tuned for more exciting projects!
