New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services -
Sex Offender Management - DCJS is the state agency responsible for maintaining New York's Sex Offender Registry, which provides New Yorkers information about sex offenders living in their communities. There are three levels of sex offenders – Level 1 (low risk), Level 2 (medium risk) and Level 3 (high risk). By law, only Level 2 and Level 3 sex offenders are listed on this site. Instructions for Finding a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)

If you are faced with the challenge of finding a material safety data sheet and can not find it in your Material Safety Data Sheet Book. Capital Region BOCES subscribes to an on-line MSDS search program that may help. This service is free to Risk Management customers.

Try going to http://msdsonline.com

Using this search:
In order to find a material safety data on this site you will need a user name and password.
Username: capitalregion
Password: Safety

After you enter your user name and password you will be directed to the MSDS search screen.

Searching for MSDS:
You can search for an MSDS by product type, manufacturer or both.

Product identifiers:
Example: crayons

Manufacturer or supplier:
Example : Crayola

A list of products will appear on the screen. Scroll down to find the MSDS sheet that you want.

Click on the PDF symbol next to the product name to view the MSDS sheet. You may also print the sheet from this screen.

New York State Green Cleaning Legislation

Environmentally Sensitive Cleaning and Maintenance Products (Green cleaning)

  • "Environmentally sensitive cleaning and maintenance products are cleaning products having properties that minimize potential impacts to human health and the environment consistent with maintenance of the effectiveness of these products for the protection of public health and safety without sacrificing product effectiveness"
Who has to comply and what regulation addressed Green Cleaning?
  • Education Law 409-i and State Finance Law 163-b
  • The law requires that all public and nonpublic elementary and secondary schools procure and use environmentally sensitive cleaning and maintenance products
  • Employees can not bring cleaning products to schools unless they meet the standards of the legislation
When did this law go into effect?
  • Schools must begin purchasing environmentally cleaning and maintenance products starting September 1, 2006
How will I know a product is a green cleaning product?
  • Green Seal
  • Environmental Choice Certified
  • Vendor can prove product meets the standard
