Sportsmanship is equally important as athletic skill when participating in any competition. As we all know, sportsmanship is an understanding of and commitment to fair play, integrity, ethical behavior, and general goodwill toward an opponent. It is a testament that an athlete is disciplined enough to have perspective, maintain poise and do what is best for their teammates.
At the recent Bolton Booster Club Sports Banquet, Jane Trowbridge was recognized for her sportsmanship by the NYSSO Umpire School Staff and The Southern Adirondack Umpires group. Who better to judge sportsmanship than our game officials? Our umpire officials have the opportunity to nominate a student- athletes for recognition. Mr. Thomas Ramsay was on hand to present Jane Trowbridge with the Chuck Campney Award for Sportsmanship and Dedication to game of softball in Section 7.
Congratulations Jane and thank you for being such an outstanding teammate and wonderful role model for all!
