Battle of the Books was held on Monday, March 12th at Skidmore College. This year the event had over 470 students on 62 teams in Grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 competing. Bolton Central School sent three teams comprised of 18 students in Grades 4-6 to the event.
Each year, students work very hard to get ready for this day. Our students begin preparing for the March battle in early November. In order to compete each student reads 10 books (5 fiction, 5 nonfiction) and sometimes they read the books more than once. Then they compete with other schools to test their knowledge of the books that they read. It was a tough competition, but all of our teams did a great job this year. It was really a great experience for the students and we couldn’t be more proud of the them and all of the hard work they put in. It makes us so happy to see our students so excited about reading! Congratulations to all of the students who competed this year! We look forward to competing again in 2019!
