Congratulations to senior, Anna Beuerman, for successfully completing the requirements to earn her NYSED Seal of Biliteracy. In combination with her earned credits for French courses, Anna prepared and presented two language-based presentations, one in English, and the other completely in French to a panel. This panel then decides if the student demonstrates the required level of proficiency in all three modes of communication; interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational.
The intent of this recognition is to encourage the study of languages, to identify high school graduates with language and biliteracy skills for employers, to provide universities with additional information about applicants seeking admission and placement, to prepare students with twenty-first century skills, to recognize the value of language instruction, and to affirm the value of diversity in a multilingual society.
Anna is the first Bolton Central School student to earn the Seal of Biliteracy!
