During the fall of an average school year, fifth grade BCS students and their teachers head to the Silver Bay Conference & Retreat Center to participate in a Nature’s Classroom program. As we all know, this was no regular school year. This year Nature’s Classroom was able to come to Bolton Central School! Although it was a slightly different program this year, our fifth graders were able to accomplish many of the academic objectives in the areas of science, social studies, and language arts. Some of the other lessons our students were able to learn were equally important: respect, trust, cooperation, independence, and responsibility. The Outdoor Education program provided by Nature’s Classroom is considered to be the highlight of fifth grade and we are grateful that the District was able to offer the program on site so our students could benefit from this unique experience.
